Start with a recording, finish with useful notes

Import a meeting recording you are allowed to process, or bring over a conversation recorded on your iPhone. Choose the spoken language and a model supported by your Mac, then run transcription. Speaker labels help you follow who said what; you can correct the names afterwards.

Once the transcript is ready, use local AI to draft a summary or ask questions about the conversation. Review decisions, dates and numbers against the transcript before sending notes to anyone. A fluent summary can still leave out context.

This workflow starts with audio you have. It does not assume that every call platform allows recording or that an iPhone can capture both sides of any call.

Record on iPhone, process on Mac

The phone is convenient to carry into a room; the Mac can have more memory and room for larger models. With Vocatim on both, you can pass a recording to the Mac and get the resulting transcript back.

Use the local network or optional iCloud hand-off according to your setup. A transfer through iCloud uses Apple’s infrastructure. The transcription itself runs on your Mac rather than a Vocatim-hosted transcription service.

• Download the transcription and AI models before you need them.
• Keep enough free storage for models, audio and your session library.
• Try a representative recording before committing to a long batch.
• Choose a smaller model if the larger one exceeds your machine’s practical limits.
• Keep original audio until you have reviewed and exported the important notes.

Larger models trade memory and time for potential quality improvements. There is no universal processing-time promise: your hardware, recording and chosen model all matter.
